BEGINNERS SEWING – GET TO KNOW YOUR SEWING MACHINE - NOW FULL!

Saturday 15th January 11:00am -1:00pm Sticthing Kitchen, Top Station Road, Brackley

A short workshop to get to know your sewing machine and gain confidence in stitching seams and topstitching. Problem solving and threading

You bought a sewing machine but haven’t got to grips with it yet? This two hour course is right up your street!

You can now extend your thread of knowledge with this sewing workshop for beginners. Join Hannah for this two-hour class offering an introduction to domestic sewing machines.

After getting to grips with threading, you'll also have the opportunity to explore different stitching techniques and seams, all with easy techniques provided by your host. We will also cover some trouble shooting and what are the typical problems which can occur.

During the second half of the workshop, we will focus on quilting techniques. You will choose from a selection of fabrics to design and make your pot holder.

Once you have completed this class you will be ready to join us on either a quilting course or perhaps on some of the garment sewing workshops planned for 2022

Don't miss out on this fantastic introduction where you're sure to leave understanding the basics of using a sewing machine, and ready to tackle your first garment!

Everything is provided for this workshop. If you want to use your own machine just bring it along.

Sunday 16th January 9:00am – 2:00pm Bicester Heritage Centre

Join Bicester Heritage Centre for the first Scramble of 2022 on Sunday 16th January.

Kicking off the New Year, their site will open up from 9am until 2pm, welcoming in attendees to experience historic motoring at its best. Their 45 industry-leading Specialists will open the doors to their restored buildings, allowing behind the scenes access to their showrooms and workshops promising fun for all of the family.

Not to mention, our Scramblers membership club will be present, promising a range of curated delights for members and non members - and attendees who have had enough festive cheer.

Family and dog friendly, the Scramble is a wonderful way to while away the weekend hours in the company of some spectacular machines, in a COVID-compliant setting.

Freddie Mercury -- the lead singer of Queen -- defies stereotypes and convention to become one of history's most beloved entertainers. The band's revolutionary sound and popular songs lead to Queen's meteoric rise in the 1970s. After leaving the group to pursue a solo career, Mercury reunites with Queen for the benefit concert Live Aid -- resulting in one of the greatest performances in rock 'n' roll history.

They will be pausing the film for a 15 minute interval at an appropriate halfway point so guests can take a comfort break and collect any pre-ordered drinks from the bar.

LIVE COMEDY NIGHT – THE NOISE NEXT DOOR & MARK NELSON

It's The Towcester ill Brewery’s first Live Comedy Night of 2022! Treat yourself to a night out or why not buy tickets as a Christmas gift for a friend or family?

Their headline act will be The Noise Next Door who are twelve time sell-out veterans of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and one of the country’s most sought after comedy club headliners. The four guys - Matt, Tom, Sam and Robin - leave audiences everywhere in awe of their lightning-quick wit and totally original comedic talents. They have appeared on BBC1, BBC3, ITV1, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 4 and performed alongside the likes of Michael McIntyre, Al Murray and Harry Hill.

Opening the night will be Mark Nelson, who is renowned for his brilliantly dark material, as host of BBC’s smash-hit show The Good, The Bad & The Unexpected and from the smash hit online comedy Saturday Live at the Stand comedy shows. He has firmly established himself on the comedy circuit, scooping the coveted Scottish Comedian of the Year title in 2006.

Support act is to be confirmed... The evening will be compered by the Mill's resident MC, Pete Teckman.

Over 18s only. Please note some material by comedians may be of an adult nature. Acts are subject to change.

BRACKLEY LEISURE CENTRE OPEN DAY

Saturday 29th January 8:00am – 6:00pm Brackley Leisure Centre

They're back with their annual open day, and they've got a right treat in store for you this year.

It will be the return of their BIG OUTDOOR BOOTCAMP! So they're inviting you to join them for the big event.

On top of this they will be offering, free gym and class usage all day (so its the perfect time to bring a friend). They will also have a range of different fitness classes running.

In our pool, they will be welcoming Stowe Sub Aqua, who will joining them to run some trial dive sessions. Then in the afternoon they will be bringing out the inflatable for one big inflatable fun session.

They are just finalising the timetables for the day, so hang tight and don't forget keep an eye out...
