WEEKLY WHAT’S ON

The sun has been shining this week and the charter fair is back in town from Thursday. From Tuesday 5 September to Sunday 10 September, the following road closures will be in place…

-Market Place car-park

-Market Place slip road from Magdalen College School gates to car-park exit

-Town Hall slip-road to car-park exit

-Parking bays will be suspended from the Crown Hotel to the pedestrian crossing on the High Street.

All vehicles MUST be removed from the above areas by 22:00 on Tuesday 5 September. Access will be available for emergency vehicles only.

CHATTY CAFE

Thursday 6th September 3:00pm – 5:00pm Lounge Cafe Bar, Brackley

Chatter and Natter table is a wonderful way of encouraging people of all ages to talk to others and not feel so socially isolated. So pop along if you fancy a spot of company and meet someone new. Having a chat can brighten someone’s day.


BRACKLEY CHARTER FAIR

Thursday 7th – Sunday 9th September (times below) Market Square, Brackley

Wilson’s Amusements are proud to be returning to Brackley for the annual charter fair

Open Thursday and Friday from 5pm and Saturday from 1.30pm until late.

There will be a range of rides and attractions for all the family including extreme ride, family rides and juveniles for the children. There will also be games stalls and food outlets offering a range of fun fair favourites and sweet treats. Most rides and attractions take cards and cash.




WALKING RUGBY

Every Thursday from 7:00pm Brackley Rugby Club

£2.50 per month to join, just pop along.



QUIZ NIGHT

Thursday 7th September from 8:00pm The Fox, Farthinghoe

Join the entertaining Andy Bannard with an evening to test those brain cells.

£2 per person maximum of 6 to a team. Cash prize to be won!

Located in Brackley Library every Friday! Not only do they have their legendary sausage rolls (come early for those), they have delicious homemade bakes, handcrafted goodies and wonderful local honey and fresh local eggs. Stay for a chat and have a cup of tea or coffee in their pop up tea shop.



CITIZEN’S ADVICE DROP-IN

An advisor will be in our laptop bar in the main library who can offer free, impartial, independent and confidential advice, pop in for an initial chat to see how they can help you.



SOCIAL STITCH AT STITCHING KITCHEN

Friday 8th September 10:00am-12:30pm Stitching Kitchen, Top Station Road, Brackley

Make some crafty friends! You can learn from others in a totally informal way. Join us at Stitching Kitchen each Friday morning to stitch in company. We are a chatty, supportive, friendly and inclusive group who love to help a fellow crafter in need of help, inspiration or advice.

Walking Football at Brackley Town FC for Over 50s on their all weather pitch, Tuesday and Friday 10.30am to 11.30am. The cost is £3.00 a session and showers and tea/coffee included afterwards. Great way to meet new people and get fit.

RIDE AND STRIDE

THE BRACKLEY & DISTRICT TABLETOP GAMERS CLUB (THE BAD GAMERS CLUB)

Every Tuesday 7:00pm – 10:30pm Egerton Hall, Brackley

The BAD Gamers Club are an informal tabletop games club, with a wide range of gaming interests covering all aspects of the tabletop games hobby – Miniatures Wargaming, Boardgames and Card Games, Role Playing Games (RPG’s)

Ages range from 16 to 60+ and on most Tuesdays, they have eight to twelve people at the club. With 1 – 2 miniatures war games and 1 – 2 boardgames tables being used. Plus a couple of role-playing campaigns with sessions running at least once a month,

BRACKLEY BIMBLE

Wednesday 13th September 9:45am – 1:30pm meet in Springfield Way
This is a lovely new walk from Brackley which includes some amazing scenery and picturesque villages arranged by Adventure Geek

Please arrive by 9.45 am they will set off at 10 am sharp. If this is your first Adventure Geek walk, then please arrive nice and early and seek out the walk leader who will be wearing a red "walk leader" pin badge.

They walk in all weathers, however, if they have a weather warning then the event may be cancelled. Keep an eye on your emails and the Facebook event page for notifications of any cancellations.
They will only ever walk in groups of 15 or less. If they have more than 15, they will usually have two walk leaders and walk in opposite directions.
They supply free sweets at the halfway stage -they call this "squidge and dip" - hand sanitiser, then dip in for your free sweets.

Wear good trainers or walking shoes (and other clothes of course!) and bring a drink.



WEEKLY WEDNESDAY WOMBLE

Every Wednesday (weather permitting) 10:00am -11:00am Brackley Library

Help Brackley Litter Wombles keep our town tidy with a quick weekly litter pick. The majority of the time, the meeting place will be the library but there may be other places where they meet up that will be closer to their wombling spot. Everyone welcome. Do come dressed appropriately, wear sensible shoes. Equipment can be provided if you do not have your own.



THE SAINTS COMMUNITY PROJECT
