Armed Forces Day Event
On Saturday 24th June 2023 - Brackley Royal British Legion in Association with the Brackley Rugby Club are holding Armed Forces Day event.
Armed Forces Day was originally known as Veterans Day and commenced on 27th June
2006. The date was chosen to commemorate the investiture of the first
Victoria Cross in Hyde Park in 1857. In 2009 the original name for the
event changed from
Veterans Day to Armed Forces Day, and in June this year we will once
again celebrate the event.
Together, Brackley Royal British Legion and Rugby Club are putting
together a day of activities, events, live music, food and drink and
welcome all members from our community young and perhaps not so young,
whether you have served, are serving or never been
part of the Armed Forces, the day is for the entire Brackley and
surrounding villages to come and join us and relax and enjoy ourselves.
The event will commence from 12.00 a full timetable of acts will be
published and distributed once the running order has been finalised.
However, we aim to start with a soft rock band from Milton Keynes and
will end with Jenna Horne who will bring the curtain
down later into the evening.
There will be a small entrance fee, £2.00 per person or £5.00 for a family of four (2 x Adults and 2 x Children U16).
Please bring along a Gazebo, Blankets, Picnic or just come along and enjoy the Day.
All entry fees and donations will be to support the Royal British Legion
Brackley Branch and the work they do within the local community and of
course to support this event in the future.
We hope that you can come along, enjoy the day and support the RBL and Rugby Club in making this an event to be proud of.
