Goobye and thank you to Brackley Community Radio!
Sad news that Sunday will be the last day of Brackley Community Radio being on out airwaves.
This is a message from Bernie...
BCR (Brackley Community Radio) is signing off.
All at BCR (Brackley Community Radio) are very sad to announce that BCR will be signing off from Sunday 13th March 2022.
This decision as not been taken lightly, and we would like to thank all of those that have volunteered their time as presenters and those that have supported BCR over the last two years with their time and efforts in what has been a very difficult period for us all. It is greatly appreciated.
BCR was set up to support our wonderful community during the pandemic and we are very proud to have achieved much during our time and hope we have generated a lot of smiles.
There have been many wonderful highlights over the last two years, with virtual events including The Brackley Carnival, VE Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Carols and Christmas Day broadcasts. We also visited local Care Homes and supported Sporting events. All this was recognised outside of our local area with BCR winning a Rose of Northamptonshire Award from the Lord-Lieutenant and High Sheriff of Northamptonshire.
We would like to thank all who have donated to our funding and all our listeners for their many requests and input into our shows; numbers have risen steadily, with over 2000 in the last week.
We have averaged 1000 listeners per week.
Last year
Over 2,064,604 hours were spent listening to our radio.
Over 27,596 different people tuned in to our broadcasts.
And 158 different countries danced to the sound of our station.
We could not have achieved this without your fantastic support. Once again it has been a pleasure to have had you all involved and wish you all well going forwards.
Best regards and thankyou to you all.
We'd like to thank Bernie, Mark and all the radio hosts past and present for everything they have done especially to keep us all connected during lockdown in 2020.
